Fact-checking policy
Every article published on Kazzaz Smoke goes through the checks described here before it appears.
Before publication
- Factual claims are traced to a primary source — a published standard, manufacturer documentation, or our own testing.
- Numerical figures are checked against the original source rather than a secondary write-up quoting it.
- Where sources disagree, the disagreement is described in the article instead of resolved arbitrarily.
- Claims we cannot substantiate are removed before publication rather than softened with hedging language.
Sources we rely on
We prefer primary sources: published technical standards, manufacturer specification sheets, and direct measurement. Secondary sources are used for context and are identified as such. Forum posts and retailer copy are not treated as evidence for anything.
After publication
Reader-reported errors are investigated on receipt. If a correction is warranted it is made promptly and noted on the article. If it is not, we explain why to the person who raised it.
What we will not do
We do not present estimates as measurements, we do not cite a source we have not read, and we do not repeat a widely-held claim simply because it is widely held.
